Ms. Ng Pee Chien graduated with First Class Honours Degree in the course of Dietetics from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She specializes in nutrition management in metabolic syndrome, weight management, pediatric nutrition in faltering growth, nutrition support in tube feeding, cancer and chronic kidney disease.

Ms. Ng Pee Chien underwent clinical training at Hospital Melaka and Hospital Pengajar Universiti Putra Malaysia (HPUPM). She is fluent in medical nutrition therapy and is also passionate in food service where she likes to discover and develop creative yet healthy recipe which at the same time maintain the good taste of the dishes!  She wanted to let the communities knows that there are other substitutions as the healthier choices and Dietitian is not saying “No” to everything.

Due to the pandemic, she digitalized the webinar and conducted a Facebook live webinar entitled “Ada Apa Dengan Gout?”. For community training, she also become one of the coaches for the online community programme for 3 weeks. Several activities, including nutrition education, physical tasks, games, and group counseling, were conducted. She also presented her case study poster in MDA 26th Conference 2021 entitled “Nutrition Management for Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) on Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) with Multiple Underlying illnesses”.

She believes that prioritizing disease prevention with nutrition will be crucial in the future as non-communicable diseases become more common among communities, prompting people to change their diet and lifestyle! Therefore, people outside are eager for more nutrition knowledge and some information obtained might be misleading. That’s why dietitian nutritionist need to stand out in the community and share more evidenced-based nutrition information to the public.
