Ms. Wen Yuan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics with Nutrition from International Medical University (IMU), which is Malaysia’s first and most established private medical and healthcare university over 30 years. She had undergone 1 year of extensive training in the healthcare field as a clinical dietitian, community dietitian and food service dietitian. She excels in addressing prevalent community health issues, particularly non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, and cancer.
Ms. Wen Yuan executed nutrition care process and medical nutrition therapy for inpatients and outpatients with various chronic illnesses. In addition to that, she performed nutritional assessment and developed individualized diet plans to meet patients’ individual needs during her clinical training. Moreover, she conducted a focus group discussion on gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy), created educational materials, provided nutrition education and counseling to increase patients’ knowledge in disease management especially on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) during her community training at Klinik Kesihatan Ampangan, Seremban.
Finally, during her degree year at IMU, she conducted a Community Webinar: “Gout and Diet: Stop the Pain!” was a virtual health talk about better lifestyle and diet on managing gout disease and a nutrition promotion program to address specific nutrition issues based on the community.
She aspires to provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and nutrition education and counseling to clients and the community. Being driven by the passion, she tries her best to empower the public with nutritional knowledge to help them make the right food and lifestyle choices daily to live a healthy life.
